Meet Dr. Pan

Portrait picture of Dr Kristen Pan

Dr. Kristen Pan is a Minneapolis-based plastic and reconstructive surgeon who performs the latest, research-driven procedures for the Twin Cities community, such as breast augmentation, mastopexy, Mommy Makeover, and breast reconstruction, among other treatment options. Inspired by her father, who immigrated to the United States and built his career as a renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Pan’s dedication to patient-centered care and advanced craftsmanship were instilled in her at an early age.

Dr. Pan studied Molecular Genetics at Ohio State University, graduating magna cum laude before completing her medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. While earning her Doctor of Medicine (MD), Dr. Pan was hand-selected for a highly competitive Medical Research Scholars Program at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). There, Dr. Pan developed strong skills in translational and clinical research. She also completed one of the most rigorous, selective, and competency-based surgical programs at Johns Hopkins Hospital, becoming the first resident in history to complete her training one full year ahead of schedule. Dr. Pan continued to conduct research at the NIH throughout her surgical training and served as a postdoctoral research fellow, as well as an associate investigator. A strong believer in advancing the field, Dr. Pan’s research has been published in many scientific journals and international presentations.

Practice Philosophy

With a focus on achieving balanced, harmonious results that feel authentic to each patient, Dr. Pan deeply understands the personal nature of surgery and her warm, attentive bedside manner helps put individuals at ease during their appointments. By listening closely to each patient’s concerns and reasons for surgery, Dr. Pan develops treatment plans custom-tailored to achieve the results they envision. She understands how those visiting her office can often be apprehensive or nervous about discussing their goals, and is grateful to provide women in particular with the comfort and familiarity of being treated by a female provider. “One of the most fulfilling parts of my job is seeing patients after one month, one year post-op,” Dr. Pan reveals. “It’s a gift to see how their procedure can really be life-altering.”
